Philosophy
What is Christian Education? Christian education is a response to the knowledge that God, through Christ, is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe - the source of all wisdom and knowledge. By His Word, God creates and maintains the world moment by moment, leaving His trademark on all visible and invisible creation. Thus, all creation is imbued with meaning, revealing God to humanity and providing us with the means for communion, friendship, and service to our Creator. All of creation, thus all the knowledge derived from it, does not exist independent of God, rather, it exists only by the Word of God. An education rooted in this knowledge equips students with a foundation of meaning and wisdom, on which to build lives of gratitude and service. The Word of God as revealed in Scripture, in Christ, and in creation provides the framework for interpreting all of life.
Purpose
The goal of
The Home
God's Word places the task of educating children with the parents. Parents are responsible to oversee each facet of training, with the goal of nurturing righteousness and faith from one generation to the next (see Genesis 18:19, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Proverbs 22:6).
The Church
The New Testament teaches that the responsibility of the church includes edification (teaching), discipleship, evangelism, and fellowship (see Matthew 18:19-20, Acts 2:42, II Timothy 2:2). Scripture refers to the church as a body, a metaphor that implies the presence of life, growth, and a maturation process, thus echoing the teaching-learning process. An active church life provides spiritual resources and avenues for service. The Christian school does not replace the spiritual training of the church; rather it seeks to encourage that training, which in turn strengthens the home, the church and the world.
Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that they are saved into the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
