Grace Christian provides a Christ centered art program where K-12 students are encouraged to begin, and continue, their studio art experience.
Art classes are built to expand a student’s experience in making art through the use of art vocabulary, development of fine motor skills, and the exposure to many different mediums.
Art vocabulary is developed through the use of aesthetic scanning. Our focus is on the elements and principles of art and the analysis of the sensory, formal, technical and expressive properties of art . Fine motor skills are improved upon as a direct result of hands-on manipulation of the tools and procedures required to create art.
Studio exposure to mediums such as graphite, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, ceramics, printmaking and more are used to help students become more well-rounded artists who are mindful of Christ and his contribution to our abilities.
