While striving to pursue excellence through music education and performance, the number one goal of the GCS band program is to glorify God and serve our community through the transformative gift of music, and to do as the psalms say and “make a joyful noise.”
The GCS Department of Instrumental Music offers a comprehensive music education.
6th grade band allows students lto earn the basics of music theory, history, and instrumental performance.
Junior high band( combined 7th & 8th grade) is a continuation of the traditional band experience with an introduction to jazz, blues and other popular music during the spring semester.
High school offers a variety of performing ensembles including concert band, orchestra, jazz band, and percussions ensemble.
In addition to regular performances throughout the year, our award-winning music program participates in regional, state, and national festivals.
