Greetings Grace Families,
I trust you are all adjusting to what I don’t want to call our “new normal”, rather let’s call it our “current practice”. None of us would choose to be in this situation. But as my wife and I engage in, as I am sure you are, conversations with our children regarding the implications of this current COVID crisis, we all have eventually arrived at the realization that God is at work through this situation. Our sons have even expressed that they are realizing that there is a lot of good that is coming out of this challenge we are navigating together.
Even though we have just begun, the picking up of educational materials has been going smoothly. It is well organized and strategically spread out so as to abide by as best we can the federal, state, and local ordinances. I am so thankful for all the teachers’ hard work in getting this assembled and ready to launch. I also am very thankful for Mr. Gionet and Mrs. Trotter’s labor as they lead us through this new endeavor. With this kind of effort and results, I am confident that the educating of our students will proceed as long as we have to stay apart. Please understand that your student’s personal belongings are safe in the building. There is no need to clean out any lockers or classrooms at this time. The building will be locked down next week except for a few essential personnel. All classrooms will have a final deep cleaning and be sealed until further developments arise.
The School Board is very aware of the financial trials that this pandemic has placed on many of us. Please read the attached letter from Grace Christian School Board President John Binder regarding the Board’s discussion and decisions.
I want you to know that Anchorage Grace Church will not be holding services in the building for the foreseeable future. If you would like to join the livestream of the services each Sunday at 10:30AM please use the Church’s livestream link. www.anchoragegrace.org
Finally for today I would ask each of us to keep a group of our students in special prayer. Our senior class is going through this challenge and yet they are trying to deal with what this means for their graduation and future. Please be in prayer for our senior class that they may know and understand God’s love for them and that He is working through this in their lives. Mr. Gionet will be including a list of our seniors that we can pray for each day as we look towards graduation.
