BIOGRAPHY
My career began with a teacher’s inspiration. I was told by my sixth grade teacher that I was a better teacher than I was a student after successfully teaching a small group of peers fractions. Since that first “math group,” I have taught every age level over my thirty+ year career from pre-kindergarten to post-graduate students. At Grace I have loved being “caught in the middle” where I am thrilled to share just a little part in the blossoming of pre-adolescents into young adults. I especially enjoy teaching language arts to middle schoolers. I find the integration of academics, personal growth, and spiritual development an exciting challenge. Often I feel like I gain more from my students than I will ever be able to give. One of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing my students take on the challenge of becoming self-motivated learners who are able to apply their new found knowledge to their own personal growth. The sparkle in the eye of a student who has just written something really well is hard to compare to any other success. I consider being a part of the growth of the young people at Grace Christian School a privilege. In my spare time I spend as much time as possible with my five adorable grandchildren.
