#GrizzlyBites – One a day for the month of May!
Day 16 – We had SIXTEEN students and five adults participate in Alaska Missions this year. Those SIXTEEN students formed two teams. Team 1 went to Stebbins and Gambell, and Team 2 went to Koyuk and Nulato.
Each spring for the past 19 years, we have sent groups of students on mission from Grace Christian School to different villages in Bush Alaska. In Alaska, we are well aware of the fact that suicide and depression are rampant throughout our state. We may not have all the answers, but building relationships with people and seeking to share God’s love for them on a deep level is a big step in the right direction. Encouraging an eternal focus in people’s worldview is essential in helping them. Our Alaska mission teams do just that! The connections they are able to make with other students is amazing and one that brings change and hope to both of them in the process.
We are privileged to continuously be invited and welcomed back year after year into these precious Alaskan communities.
