Grace has mission teams that go to several places across the globe each year, but we also send students into our own very backyard in rural Alaska! Alaska missions continues to have a significant impact in the communities we are able to visit and we wanted to share with you an email that we recently received from the principal at the school in Nulato.
Good Afternoon Mr. Gionet
First and foremost, I hope that this message finds you extremely well.
Moreover, I felt it extremely important that I share with you the true “value” of your student’s past trip to our community.
In short, your team has left a lasting impression on my students and they continue to speak about the joy and lessons learned.
Further, my high school students saw first-hand that selfless service is rewarding both on an intra-interpersonal level and many have committed to helping others in our community as a result.
In closing, please know that we are all extremely thankful for your team’s effort and know that they conducted and carried themselves with great dignity and respect for our students.
Your team is always welcome back!
Jason R. Johnson, Ed.D.
What an amazing opportunity our students here at Grace have to make an impact across the globe and in our own communities here in Alaska. As you can see from the letter, it’s an impact that is truly making a difference, and allows our students to pass on the legacy of an integrity driven culture to those they encounter.
