GUARDIANS OF GRACE:
Parents and families, you are needed! We will be holding weekly meetings as the event is planned, so stay tuned, and gear up for a NEW Guardians of Grace Event!
It’s that time of year, and love is in the air! Show your love for Grace by committing your family for the 2019-2020 school year. Commit by February 28th, because on March 1, the fee increases to $400, and students in full classes will be added to the waiting pool. Forms are available at www.gracechristianalaska.org/COMMIT
Kindergarten Experience | February 20
Invite your friends who have incoming Kindergarteners to this special event! Families will meet the Kindergarten teachers, sit in on a lesson, have Q&A time with Mrs. Graham, and will be able to talk with current parents and families. Track and Field Throwing Clinic | February 8-9
Track and Field season is just around the corner! The Grace Throwing Clinic is on Friday and Saturday Feb. 8th-9th. This is a great opportunity for athletes to receive individual training and tips! Please see the attached flyer and click here to register!
NHS and the Music Program will be selling Valentine Grams February 6th and 7th in the North Commons during Parent/Teacher conferences, and also in both the North and South Commons before and after school Feb 8-13. For $5, you may choose either a rose, a mini teddy bear, or a bag of chocolate kisses; or for $10, a singing gram performed by our very own Men’s or Women’s Ensemble. When you place your order, in addition to choosing a gift, please be prepared with a homeroom teacher or room number (for elementary) or with a preferred period (1-4) and teacher or room number (for secondary). The hope is that all gifts will be delivered the first two periods of the morning, and the singing grams will be delivered to secondary students in the morning, and elementary students in the afternoon.

Early Dismissal February 6, 7, and 8. Elementary will dismiss at 1:00, and Secondary (including 6th grade) will dismiss at 1:15.
Academic Grade Check (mid-quarter) for Secondary students on Friday, February 8.
Elementary Movie Day | February 8
Elementary students are invited to join us in the North Gym for a showing of the Iditarod-inspiring tale of Balto, beginning at 1:15pm until 3:15pm. A $5 donation is requested for snacks and to support the choir’s travel to San Francisco.
Freshman/Sophomore Night | February 12
Freshmen & Sophomores are invited to a special evening discussing all things high school at 7pm in the Chapel. What is next in high school, PSAT score reports, SAT/ACT information and much more will be presented.
Grace Christian Hardwood Classic Basketball Tournament is February 14-15.
ACSI Speech Meet is February 15.
NO SCHOOL on February 15.
NO SCHOOL on February 18.
School-Day SAT Registration (Juniors only) is due on February 20.
Senior Celebration is on February 25. Seniors can RSVP to the Secondary Office at 868-1203.

New year, new goals! We are planning to order new GraceWear soon, so help us clear our inventory to make room for new items. Check out all of our current items.
We are always looking for Recess Substitutes!

Hot Lunch Information
Effective immediately, if you have a negative balance in your prepaid lunch account, students can no longer charge snacks or receive hot lunch. Students can still receive cup of noodles, a drink, and fruit as an emergency option until the account has a positive balance.
Looking for Bus Drivers!
We are looking for bus drivers who have their CDL. If you’re interested in being a driver, please contact Trish Kopp. We are in extreme need!
Grizzly Den is Open on Fridays!
Friday mornings from 7:30 – 8:00 am, various school supplies will be for sale with prices ranging from $0.25-$5.00. We have tons of new supplies this year! The Grizzly Den will not be open on Pancake Breakfast mornings.
Box Tops for Education | Due February 28
Did you know the school collects Box Tops for Education? Collect your box tops and bring into either office to help earn money for the school! Please bring your box tops in by February 28!
Grocery shopping this week?
Fred Meyer is partnering with GCS, so when you scan your rewards card at checkout, Fred Meyer will donate a percentage of the profit to GCS. And yes, you will still be able to get your gas points! There is no reason for you to not do this. Sign up by linking your rewards card with GCS. Questions? So far this year, we’ve received a total of $910.47 from Fred Meyer!

Moms in Prayer are meeting weekly on Thursdays!
Join other mothers of Grace students in prayer for our school leaders, students, and more. Moms in Prayer meets every Thursday at 8:15 am in the AGC Youth Room (Rm. 221). See you there!
You are welcome to join us for School Board Meetings.
The board meets once a month on Tuesdays at 6:00pm in the Chapel.
