The GCS Drama Department offers exciting experiences both onstage and backstage for our very own productions!
Our Junior High drama class learns the basics of the theatrical process, acting theory, and improvisational theatre. Students gain experience as part of the crew for one of our mainstage productions, working on props, set, costumes, sound or lighting, or as a part of the design, marketing, or front of house teams.
The High School drama class goes deeper, giving students the opportunity to learn how to design props, set, costumes, sound, and lighting for the mainstage productions. Students also learn method acting and advanced acting techniques such as emotive patterns and vocal work.
We have two mainstage productions every year, in which every student participates in some capacity, and we offer connections to a number of programs and theatres in town where students can get acquainted with the local theatre community.
