Grace Christian School hosts two large annual fundraisers to help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual costs to run the school. The annual auction is hosted each fall featuring both Silent and Live events. The Silent Auction bidding is completely online and runs for one week with one evening for in-person viewing of the items. The Live Auction is presented in person with a catered meal and has been called the “best date night.”
Parent volunteers are crucial to the event success. Numerous committees, guided by our auction chair, Kayla Sherwood, are responsible for different aspects of the auction preparation. Volunteers are encouraged to help on a committee that works best with their strengths; whether it is procuring items to be auctioned, organizing the class project, data entering, photographing items, or decorating and setup for the event evening. No amount of time is too small, we appreciate any and all help when preparing for such a large event.
Our auctioneer, Dan Newman of Alaska Premier Auctions and Appraisals seamlessly guides the Live Auction, making the evening a beautiful night to remember, not just for our Grace Family, but the Anchorage Community as a whole!
